Johns Manville introduces SpunFil, the high performance carrier for the reinforcement of activated-carbon filters
Bad Homburg (June 7, 2005) -- Johns Manville (JM), a Berkshire Hathaway company and a leading manufacturer and marketer of premium-quality building and specialty products, today announced the launch of SpunFil 688, a new superior polyester spunbond filtration media.
The SpunFil 688 product family has been developed for special usage in automotive and HVAC filtration systems as carrier of activated carbon medias. It features a sophisticated coarse filament design that offers excellent properties for carrying carbon particles and reliably maintains consistent filtration performance.
With a smooth calendered surface at 70-80 g/sqm, SpunFil 688 has superior tensile strength and outstanding stiffness for pleating processes. The open structure of the material prevents carbon particles from migration and allows superior air flow at the same time.
