Johns Manville Europe Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastics Sector
Represented at the K 2001 in Düsseldorf : Johns Manville Skloplast is one of the leading manufacturers of rovings and chopped strands for plastic reinforcement applications for SMC and BMC technology as well as for fiber reinforced thermal plastics in Europe. In addition, there is a continuously increasing demand for roving products for use in the innovative LTF technology for long-fiber reinforced thermal plastics. Johns Manville Skloplast is represented in the rapidly growing reinforced thermoplastics sector by new products for automobile interiors or under the bonnet, to name just two applications. In these applications, glass fibers are used as reinforcements for polyolefines, like polypropylene, and also for polyamides and thermoplastical polyester, commonly called engineered plastics. Other JM product innovations also introduced at K 2001 include CombiTex, a hybrid system consisting of a homogenous blend of glass and polypropylene fibers. CombiTex is used for various applications in plastic reinforcements. CombiMat®, yet another new Johns Manville development, is a new inlay combining the advantages of polyester spunbonds and glass fiber nonwovens in one single product.
