Manville Skloplast Starts Up New Glass Melter Doubles Capacity Since
Being Acquired :
Bad Homburg, October 25, 2001 --- Johns Manville Skloplast in Trnava,
Slovakia, a market-leading manufacturer of continuous filament reinforcements,
today announced the start up of a new furnace which will double the
plant's manufacturing capacity. This significant investment positions
Johns Manville to better serve the European reinforcement markets
and opens possibilities for new product applications.

Johns Manville Skloplast, acquired in February 2001 as part of
the European operations of Johns Manville, manufactures glass rovings,
chopped strands and chopped strand mats for the plastic reinforcement
sector, rovings for textile glass fabrics, and glass fiber nonwovens
for the roofing industry.
